Club Lazer
LAZER.jpgClub Lazer has been keeping Old San Juan vibrating to a heavy bass beat for over 20 years. That kind of longevity in a nightclub, in Puerto Rico or anywhere else is rare. The club maintains its popularity thanks to its music, playing all the favorites of Puerto Rico's raggaetón fans, and of course, its lazer light shows. But the experience comes with a few caveats. I first showed up at //Club Lazer// on a Friday night; there were hardly twenty people in the entire place, and given that there are three floors of space, that's saying something. Then I went back on a Saturday, when the vibe was much more fun. It was raggaetón night (for the ladies, you get in free and receive a free glass of wine to boot). Saturday night is also the night that Club Lazer trots out male and female strippers for its audience, and that certainly contributed to the party-like atmosphere. But Sunday is perhaps the best day of all at the club, when the happy hour goes until 1 am and entrance is free until 1. The club is located on 251 Cruz Street in Old San Juan.
